The dog sits comfortably next to me, occasionally peering up with eyes that offer reassurance and unspoken loyalty. He calls her from downstairs, his voice shrill and commanding. She starts. Hears "Come! Treat!" She scampers underneath the bed, hiding. :) Animal instinct. Don't fuck with it. :)
